“Eight International CEO Suki Campano Highlights Value of Seafood Expo North America for Global Business Expansion"
Suki Campano, CEO and Founder of Odessa, Delaware's Eight International, emphasized the significance of face-to-face interactions at events like Seafood Expo North America (SENA) for multinational enterprises like hers. At SENA 2024, held in Boston, Massachusetts from March 10 to 12, Eight International showcased its diverse range of grouper, mahi, and tuna products, sourced globally from countries such as Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Indonesia, Seychelles, Philippines, Portugal, India, Thailand, Oman, and the Marshall Islands.
Campano, who transitioned from event management in Singapore to the seafood industry, initiated Eight International with inspiration from her cousin, Vayaprakas Jayaraman, the owner of Bangkok, Thailand-based Amazing Tuna. Establishing ethical and sustainable sourcing practices from trusted fishing companies has been a cornerstone of Eight International's operations, particularly facilitated by familial connections.
"It's a truly familial endeavor. By prioritizing premium quality and customer needs, we ensure that our business remains customer-centric," remarked Campano. She expressed excitement about showcasing the company's canned tuna and emphasized its potential market appeal.
Since its inception in 2010, initially operating out of Campano's Delaware basement, Eight International has witnessed substantial growth. Campano underscores a burgeoning focus on incorporating women industry leaders into both business operations and supply chains.
Despite the convenience of gatherings like SENA for global networking, Eight International's leadership places significant emphasis on visiting supplier countries to maintain existing relationships and cultivate new partnerships.
"I personally visit fishermen annually to provide support and reinforce their value to our company," Campano affirmed. "This commitment underscores our core values, ensuring that our fishermen feel appreciated and integral to our success.
