Seafood Expo North America (SENA) and Seafood Expo Global (SEG) in 2023 offered a wealth of insights and information through 28 individual presentations at SENA and 21 sessions at SEG. These sessions, featuring leading experts in the seafood industry, provided exclusive economic forecasts and analyses on key trends impacting the global seafood sector. Topics ranged from trade and food safety to traceability, aquaculture, sustainability, and consumption trends. Now, video recordings of each session are available for on-demand replay.
One notable session titled "Claiming a Place at the Table for Sustainable Seafood as Food Production Takes Center Stage in the Climate Crisis" featured Katherine Bryar, Global Marketing Director of BioMar Group; Zach Koehn, Early Career Fellow at Stanford University Center for Ocean Solutions; Tim Fitzgerald, Chief Sustainability Officer at American Seafoods; and Rebecca Wintering, Foreign Affairs Officer at the U.S. State Department. Moderated by Karly Kelso, Director of EDF Climate Resilient Food Systems, the session explored the evolving landscape of agri-food and climate policy and its implications for aquatic food producers. This session, held on March 14th, addressed the industry's role in addressing sustainability, health, and development challenges amidst global food system transformations.
