Australis Aquaculture's Barra Barrk, marketed under its Better Fish brand, is now stocked in all BJ's Wholesale Club outlets across the eastern United States. These treats, derived from Australis's Aquaculture Stewardship Council- and Best Aquaculture Practices-certified farms, are meticulously hand-rolled and air-dried, promising numerous nutritional benefits and endless enjoyment for pets.
Enriched with omega-3 fatty acids, these fish skin treats contribute to pets' agility, dental and joint health, cardiovascular system, and vision. The Better Fish farms adhere to sustainable practices throughout the fish-to-treat process, ensuring every bite consists of human-grade food ingredients from a fully certified food production facility.
Josh Goldman, CEO and Co-Founder of Australis Aquaculture, emphasized the company's commitment to offering a wholesome alternative in response to the evolving pet treat market. He highlighted the versatility of barramundi and its benefits, underscoring the significance of strengthening the bond between pets and their owners.
In a separate development, ButcherBox, headquartered in Watertown, Massachusetts, U.S.A., renowned for its direct-to-consumer meat and seafood brand, has ventured into the pet market with its ButcherBox For Pets line. This line includes dry food, treats, and hip and joint supplements for dogs, crafted within the same high-quality standards as ButcherBox products.

With initial treats and supplements achieving significant sales among ButcherBox customers, the company is expanding its pet food offerings, catering to growing demand and enhancing pet nutrition.
The introduction of North Coast Seafoods' Boat to Bowl pet food line in January 2024 further enriches the pet food market with fish-based formulas and treats for dogs and cats. Featuring Marine Stewardship Council-certified fish byproducts, this sustainable and natural range underscores North Coast Seafoods' commitment to offering high-quality seafood options for over 65 years, now extended to beloved pets.
