"Geisslers Supermarket Recall: EZnoble Sushi Products Pose Allergen Risk"
East Windsor, Connecticut - Geisslers Supermarket has initiated a recall of certain sushi products, manufactured by EZnoble Sushi, after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration flagged undeclared allergens on the labels. The affected products, produced or bought on March 26th and 27th, 2024, with sell-by dates of March 27th and 28th, 2024, may contain undisclosed egg, wheat, and milk, posing a severe health risk to individuals allergic or sensitive to these ingredients, as stated by the FDA.
This recall follows an investigation into a previous recall in 2022, revealing unresolved labeling issues with EZ Noble Sushi products. The sushi items, packaged in transparent plastic containers bearing Geisslers Supermarket Inc. labels, were distributed in Connecticut at various Geisslers locations, including East Windsor, South Windsor, Windsor, Bloomfield, Somers, Granby, and Agawam, Massachusetts.
The affected sushi varieties, including Tuna and Salmon Combos, Spicy Tuna Rolls, and Shrimp Tempura Crunch Rolls, were sold on March 26th and 27th at Geisslers stores. The packaging displays the sushi type beneath the Geisslers Supermarket emblem, with the UPC code located at the label's bottom, alongside the store location.
Consumers who purchased sushi from any Geisslers Supermarket Inc. outlet on March 26th or 27th are urged to return the products to the respective store for a full refund.
