BensBoyz, established in 2020 by CEO and Founder Joseph Wyatt in Greensboro, North Carolina, unveils its innovative approach to enriching the seafood industry. The company's dual focus involves direct collaboration with eateries and food trucks, alongside the creation of culturally rooted seafood products for retail and foodservice sectors, aiming to celebrate African-American heritage.
Joseph Wyatt, addressing attendees at the 2024 Seafood Expo North America held in Boston, Massachusetts, from March 10 to 12, articulates BensBoyz's mission to bridge the gap in cultural representation within the seafood market. Drawing on traditional Southern recipes infused with African-American culinary traditions, the company delivers a contemporary twist on classic dishes, offering fully prepared meals and value-added products.
In a recent development, Wyatt announces a strategic partnership with Target, marking a significant milestone for BensBoyz. Commencing on May 5, a selection of BensBoyz products, including salmon patties, fillets, and preseasoned shrimp, will debut in 450 Target stores along the U.S. East Coast. Moreover, BensBoyz plans to introduce new offerings, such as Nashville hot catfish and shrimp, along with seafood nuggets tailored for children.
Reflecting on the company's aspirations, Wyatt emphasizes BensBoyz's commitment to expanding its reach nationally and internationally, underscoring the ambition to elevate cultural awareness and appreciation within the global seafood industry. With a vision to resonate with a new generation of consumers and establish a distinct market presence, BensBoyz emerges as a trailblazer in the realm of culturally inspired seafood cuisine
