The Global Seafood Alliance (GSA), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting seafood sustainability, has announced the appointment of Mike Kocsis as its new Chief Executive Officer. Kocsis, a seasoned professional in the seafood industry, will succeed Wally Stevens, who previously held the position.
With a background in supply chain management and international business, Kocsis has been involved with GSA, initially serving as Chief Systems Officer and later advancing to Chief Strategy Officer in 2023. In his statement upon assuming the CEO role, Kocsis expressed enthusiasm for furthering responsible seafood practices globally and emphasized the importance of collaboration with stakeholders.
Kocsis brings extensive experience from leadership positions in renowned seafood brands such as High Liner Foods, King & Prince Seafood, and Gorton’s Seafood. Notably, he was recognized in 2016 on IntraFish’s "40 Under 40" list for his contributions to the industry.
During the transition, Kocsis will receive support from his predecessor, Wally Stevens, who has been integral to the organization for nearly two decades. Stevens will continue his involvement with GSA as a member of the board of directors and executive committee.
