Amyco Foods Expands European Market Presence at 2024 Seafood Expo Global
During the 2024 Seafood Expo Global held in Barcelona, Spain, from April 23 to 25, Yuhong Yang, Director of Amyco Foods based in Hainan, China, leveraged her sales pitch to strengthen existing partnerships in the U.K., Belgium, the Netherlands, and Spain, while forging new connections in France. Emphasizing the familiarity of tilapia among European consumers, Yang underscored the market recognition for the product.
Amyco Foods, renowned for its frozen, whole gutted, and scaled tilapia, boasts certifications including Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP), HACCP, and British Retail Consortium (BRC), with its factory E.U.-approved and registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Despite recent supply constraints in China, Yang remains optimistic, anticipating a potential price decrease in June or July, thus enabling increased supply during the summer months. Diversifying its offerings beyond tilapia, Amyco provides golden pompano, shrimp, catfish, eel, and crawfish, sourced from various farms across China.
In response to the fluctuating tilapia supply and broader economic conditions in China, Amyco strategically monitors each market it serves, aligning production to fulfill its commitment of reliability and consistency.
Notably, recent investments in aquaculture projects by Chinese investors, such as the CNY 100 million endeavor by China International Marine Containers Group in Guangdong province, signal potential for bolstering local supply. Despite China's transition into a net seafood importer, these investments suggest a promising avenue for ensuring sustained supply chains, benefiting companies like Amyco Foods in the long term.
