Maronti Argentina: A Legacy of Quality in Seafood Processing
Established by second-generation Italian immigrants, Don Antonio Baldino and Mrs. María Inmaculada Di Scala, Maronti Argentina has been dedicated to fish processing since 1958. The family's continuous dedication and hard work have propelled the company into a cycle of sustained growth, earning the solvency and credibility required to thrive in an increasingly demanding international market.
Commencing operations in September 2009, the company specializes in marketing fresh and frozen hake, squid, and fresh/frozen shrimp in global markets. Headquartered in Mar del Plata, Maronti Argentina operates its own fishing vessels in the Argentine Sea (FAO 41), utilizing landing ports such as Comodoro Rivadavia, Puerto Madryn, and Mar del Plata.
The fleet comprises the 260-ton Andrés Jorge boat, dedicated to fresh hake fishing for the domestic market, and two jigging vessels, Mimhima Maru 8 and Arbumasa XXIX, focused on squid capture processed onboard and exported globally. Additionally, the company possesses another vessel for both hake and shrimp fishing, with a storage capacity of 60 tons.
Maronti Argentina exports squid to markets including China, Thailand, South Korea, and Southeast Asian countries, as well as other regions worldwide in whole frozen format. The company processes and markets approximately 7,000 tons of high-quality raw materials annually for both foreign and local markets.
Currently employing around 120 people directly in Argentina, Maronti Argentina also generates a significant amount of indirect employment in ports, logistics, and local raw material processing plants.
