De Heus, a global leader in animal nutrition, has opened a state-of-the-art shrimp feed mill in Co Chien Industrial Zone, Vinh Long province, Vietnam. This significant investment reflects De Heus's dedication to long-term growth in shrimp feed production.
Co de Heus, CEO of Royal De Heus Group, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting shrimp farmers with high-quality feed, knowledge transfer, and market access. He highlighted the importance of sustainable practices in addressing challenges like climate change and disease outbreaks, emphasizing the role of innovative technologies in ensuring the future sustainability of Vietnamese shrimp aquaculture.
Johan van den Ban, general director of De Heus Vietnam, expressed his satisfaction in welcoming key stakeholders from the Vietnamese and global shrimp industry. He emphasized the company's readiness to collaborate with partners across the value chain to further develop the shrimp industry in Vietnam sustainably.
HE Daniel Stork, Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, hailed the new shrimp feed mill as a significant boost for the local economy and aquaculture industry. He noted its potential to enhance shrimp farming practices, improve yields, and contribute to food security in the community, highlighting its role in sustainable development and economic growth in Vinh Long and beyond.
The De Heus Vinh Long shrimp feed mill spans 29,300 square meters with an annual capacity of 50,000 metric tons. It features five production lines dedicated exclusively to shrimp feed products, utilizing cutting-edge technology imported from Europe. The entire production process adheres to rigorous international quality standards such as ISO 22000, BAP, and GLOBAL GAP, underscoring De Heus's commitment to excellence in aquafeed production.
