"In the wake of a successful fourth quarter in 2023, BioMar, a leading aquafeed company, has disclosed its exceptional annual results, surpassing market guidance. Despite similar volumes and revenue to previous years, BioMar achieved a remarkable 26 percent increase in EBITDA across consolidated companies and joint ventures.
Carlos Diaz, CEO of BioMar, expressed utmost satisfaction with the company's performance, attributing it to continuous optimization of product portfolio and proactive market adaptation. Diaz highlighted improvements in both commercial aspects and operational efficiency.
BioMar's 2023 operations, including joint ventures in Turkey and China, yielded a total volume of 1.6 million tons, a turnover of DKK 20 billion, and an EBITDA of DKK 1.4 billion.
While revenue for 2023 remained comparable to the previous year, Diaz attributed this year's success to BioMar's strategy of fostering long-term partnerships with new suppliers and customers. Emphasizing the importance of sustainable and efficient aquaculture, Diaz underscored the significance of collaborative efforts to reshape the industry's future.
BioMar prioritized long-term collaborations over short-term volume gains, ensuring stability in volumes compared to 2022. Diaz concluded by affirming BioMar's commitment to building a resilient business model aligned with sustainability objectives, poised for continued financial growth and environmental responsibility.
